Automating a Static-Build Blog

Adding posts to a static blog can be time-consuming, error prone, and require you to know how to write markdown and use git. I got frustrated having to do a 10 minute process to write small, short blog posts so I built automation around the process. Now when I want to write a new blog post I open a form on slack and submit it, and a slack bot aggregates the boilerplate with my content and makes the git commit for me then git actions rebuilds the blog and publishes the new version. This works for any static blog, it's not specific to any particular framework, so if you want to simplify how you're deploying your blog come read about how I did it!

This is a technical overview that goes over control flows, model structure, API communications, settings, and more. I included some gotchas I discovered along the way and point out places where the functionality can be enhanced by the ambitious coder.
